I have just returned from a very short and enjoyable trip to Los Angeles with my sister, who thinks I am a weirdo attracter after the people we encountered whilst there. Here are a few of my favoLA-50urite pictures from the trip.

We stayed in Pasadena. From there we went on the bus to the Warner Bros. Studio. Normally I am not that fussed about cars, but when I saw the cars from movies I was so excited, to the point where the tour LA-55guide was trying to usher me out. They included 3 Batmobiles, The Gran Torino car, The Austin Powers Jaguar and The General Lee, from Dukes of Hazard. Whilst there we also saw the Friends set.

We visited the Farmers Market and got some delicious lunch. And I briefly saw the Hollywood sign. Still jet lagged. Time for bed.  LA-54LA-75LA-76    LA-77LA-81 LA-78  LA-108LA-92  LA-90LA-97  LA-112 LA-116 LA-120 LA-126

My very ambitious choice of books for the week. I didn't even finish one-too busy enjoying myself.

My very ambitious choice of books for the week. I didn’t even finish one-too busy enjoying myself (after I got over the guilt of leaving my children for a week).

Taken on my favourite walk of the week.

Taken on my favourite walk of the week.

After my recent back operation I was lucky enough to have rehabilitation at the Fire Brigade Recovery centre in Penrith, which was amazing. I was busy walking and exercising most of the time, also a bit of socialising with the great people I met there. So I didn’t take as many gnarly tree barkFence post and barbed wirePenrithmay2013-46Penrithmay2013-62Pink blossompictures as I would do normally but here is a selection from my week away.
It was a very busy schedule of exercising, swimming, rest, relaxation and walking. The walks were nice and enjoyable. Apart from the day we had a rest period and decided to go to Ullswater, as soon as we got there what was an okay day turned into a rainy, windy, freezing cold day as soon as we got there.
I had a nice walk by myself along the river, but almost got lost with my bad sense of direction. All the plants were late to bloom in Penrith, as they have been everywhere in the country this year. So it was nice to see the beautiful blossom when I returned to Warrington.

So it is back to work for me, I have one weeks worth of work to catch up on. This blog isn’t an act of procrastination, that’s what I am trying to convince myself of anyway.

Sarah & Dave

Sarah and I have known each other since we were 16, so when she asked me to Photograph her Wedding I was really flattered and excited. It was also in the beautiful setting of Troutbeck village in the Lake District. The Wedding was amazing with lots of personal touches that tied into the setting.
Here are some of my favourite pictures.

The First Dance

The first dance is a great part of any Wedding. Any nerves or anxiety during the speeches and Wedding ceremony are long gone and the Bride and Groom can enjoy this traditional moment together, made more special and personal by their dance moves and song choice. Here are a few of my favourites.

Bridal bouquets and more

As I am a garden photographer, and gardener, as well as a Wedding photographer I am drawn towards photographing the beauty of the flowers at Weddings. I love the colour combinations and the natural elegance of them.
